On the sunny side: thought leadership for the energy transition

The task

As an agency with a background in technology, the energy transition plays a major role for us. Whether PR support for a market entry or a product launch, the desire for more visibility in an increasingly competitive environment or thought leadership in the public debate: we support companies in numerous projects and campaigns relating to renewable energies and the mobility transition.

The biggest challenges: to work out individual, opinionated positions in contrast to the competition, to provide added value and new perspectives and to penetrate to the target groups in the confusion of current debates.

Aurora Solar, a US company for cloud-based planning of PV systems, asked Oseon for support in entering the German market at the same time as the interSolar trade fair.

The law firm Bird & Bird seeks to showcase the expertise of its lawyers in the various legal areas and focus sectors of the practice. Also in the context of infrastructure, e-mobility and energy transition.

E-mobility 

For its market entry in Germany, Danish e-mobility company Monta was looking for a PR agency for a C-level positioning project. Also active in the field of e-mobility and looking for effective communication: Vimcar, provider of digital logbooks and software for commercial fleet management.

Our approach

For our clients, we rely on a topic-based thought leadership approach to the current social and political situation surrounding the expansion of renewables. Based on a competitor analysis and a daily news radar, we define topic gaps and pitch approaches. In close contact with all important trade and business media as well as the daily press, we offer the right spokespeople for interviews, guest articles or commentaries.

In order to generate attention for such hotly debated topics as the energy transition, you need an individual approach that brings new aspects and insights into the debate. Issue jumps on specific occasions combined with expert knowledge create relevance here. In-house studies, for example among homeowners, with fresh questions generate news value.

With our mix of product PR and thought leadership, we managed a powerful market launch as well as an important product launch. Our trade fair highlight: coverage in Handelsblatt and in the Handelsblatt Inside Energy & Real Estate newsletter.
Tier 1
By the means of issue jumps, we place Bird & Bird's experts on current debates and thus ensure high-reach coverage in tier 1 media such as Capital or n-tv. A nice side effect: the lawyers are now also actively requested by the media for commentary.
Big 5
Interviews with Tagesspiegel, Handelsblatt, a video interview with the Bundesverband eMobilität, podcast appearances or an article in Automobilwoche - for Monta, we went straight for the big players and placed our client in relevant tier 1 media. Our topics for Vimcar were picked up by specialist media in the automotive industry as well as business media such as Handelsblatt and Wirtschaftswoche. The result: 8 Tier 1 reports in the first three months, 5 of them in the business press.
